ESA & Service Animal Letters | Legitimate Mental Health Eval

If you need a certified ESA or service animal letter, I provide legally compliant emotional support animal (ESA) and psychiatric service dog (PSD) letters through a licensed mental health professional. These letters can help individuals with anxiety, depression, PTSD, or other qualifying mental health conditions access the support they need for daily life and travel.

My process is confidential, efficient, and fully compliant with federal laws, including the Fair Housing Act (FHA) and Air Carrier Access Act (ACAA).

With a valid ESA or service animal letter from me, you can:

  • Live with your support animal in pet-restricted housing
  • Avoid pet fees or deposits (under FHA)
  • Travel more confidently with your psychiatric service dog (PSD)
  • Receive proper documentation backed by a licensed professional

I provide legitimate evaluations—no fake registries or shortcuts. Every letter is based on a clinical assessment conducted by me as a licensed therapist in your state.

Get the support you need—with the animal who helps you most.

Private pay therapy options are available.

Service Dog Documentation for Disability-Related Needs in Denver, CO, Las Vegas, NV and Southern New Hampshire:

I provide service dog documentation (often referred to as verification letters) for individuals who rely on trained service dogs to perform specific tasks related to a disability that substantially limits one or more major life activities. These letters are written thoughtfully and responsibly to support legitimate disability-related needs—while staying consistent with federal law and professional ethics.

While service dogs are legally protected, misunderstandings and access challenges are common. In certain situations, having clear documentation from a licensed mental health professional can help reduce conflict, clarify rights, and support reasonable accommodations.

How a Service Dog Letter Can Help

1. Public Access Support Under the ADA

The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) allows individuals with disabilities to be accompanied by their service dogs in most public places, including restaurants, stores, hotels, schools, and other spaces where pets are not typically allowed.

Although documentation is not legally required under the ADA, a service dog letter can:

  • Support you if your access is questioned or challenged
  • Clarify that your dog is a task-trained service animal, not a pet or emotional support animal
  • Help resolve misunderstandings without disclosing private medical details

2. Housing Rights Under the Fair Housing Act (FHA)

Service dogs are protected under the Fair Housing Act (FHA). With appropriate documentation:

  • Housing providers cannot deny housing due to a service dog
  • No pet fees or deposits may be charged for service animals
  • A service dog letter can verify your disability-related need if requested, without requiring disclosure of diagnoses or proof of training

This can be especially helpful in rental situations where policies or staff may not fully understand service animal laws.

3. Travel Accommodations (Air Carrier Access Act)

Under the Air Carrier Access Act (ACAA), individuals with service dogs are permitted to travel in the cabin of U.S. airlines. Airlines may:

  • Require Department of Transportation (DOT) service animal forms
  • Ask for confirmation related to your disability-related need and the dog’s training

A service dog letter from me can help support this documentation or assist in resolving disputes if issues arise before or during travel.

4. Workplace Accommodations (Case-by-Case)

Under ADA Title I, employees may request reasonable workplace accommodations, which can include a service dog. A service dog letter may:

  • Support a formal accommodation request
  • Help an employer understand the disability-related need

Employers will still assess whether the accommodation is reasonable and does not create undue hardship, but documentation can clarify the request and reduce friction.

Important Clarification

A service dog letter is not required under the ADA to legally have or use a service dog.

However, it can be extremely helpful when:

  • Your rights are questioned
  • There is confusion or disagreement about access
  • Documentation is requested for housing, travel, or workplace accommodations

My approach prioritizes accuracy, clarity, and ethical practice—supporting individuals who genuinely rely on trained service dogs, while respecting the legal distinctions between service animals, emotional support animals, and pets.

If you’d like to explore whether service dog documentation is appropriate for your situation, I’m happy to discuss this with you.
